Danny Brown

XXX 2LP

The first full-length release from Danny since his acclaimed The Hybrid in 2010, XXX is a concept record about hedonism, growing up, and Detroit, taking listeners on a profane and psychedelic journey through the uncensored mind of rap's most electric MC. There's no laundry list of guest appearances or producers-for-hire, keeping the focus squarely on Danny and his rhymes: a triple stack of pop culture references and did-he-really-say-that? provocations atop the heart of a poet.

Purchase

The Streets

The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light

The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light is the sixth album by English rapper and producer Mike Skinner, under his music project The Streets. It was released on 13 October 2023 through 679 and Warner Music UK. It marks his first studio album in nearly 13 years, following Computers and Blues.

Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys

All Night Long

Following the recent popular radio single “Even Cowgirls Cry”, Harnett and Co are offering another glimpse of their forthcoming 2nd LP All Night Long. “I’ll Get By” features Harnett and her barroom tight Pony Boys in a reflective yet determined frame of mind as their sum parts come together to deliver another radio friendly slice of Americana melancholy.

Purchase

Burna Boy

I Told Them

I Told Them... is the seventh studio album by Burna Boy. It was released on 25 August 2023 through Atlantic, Spaceship Records, and Bad Habit. The album features guest appearances from 21 Savage, Dave, Seyi Vibez, J. Cole, GZA and RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, and Byron Messia.

Purchase

Frankie & The Witch Fingers

Data Doom

Los Angeles psych-punk quartet Frankie and the Witch Fingers have returned with their seventh studio album Data Doom, due September 1 via The Reverberation Appreciation Society / Greenway Records. To ring in the announcement, the band has shared album highlight “Mild Davis” with a mind-bending animated music video. Inspired by Miles Davis’ early-70s electric work, the track’s dizzying 7/4 meter winds through chunky riffs, commanding vocals and proggy synths before crash-landing in a minefield of angular guitar harmonies.

Inspired by the book written by Australian music journalist and author Craig Mathieson, ‘The Sell In’ is all about Aussie alternative bands of the 90’s and beyond. When Nevermind broke labels fell over themselves to find the next Nirvana. Australia already had one of the healthiest indie music scenes in the world, but in the 90s alternative acts became household names.
