Danny Brown Quaranta Serving as follow up to the acclaimed 2019 ludicrously groovy, Q-Tip executively produced Uknowhatimsayin? as well as 2023's Scaring The Hoes collaborative album with JPEGMAFIA, alt hip-hop hero Danny Brown has unveiled details of his much hyped new solo full-length Quaranta (Spanish for 40). Billed as a "spiritual bookend" to 2011's career-defining XXX, which was released in tandem with Brown's turning 30, the new record boasts both an impressive array of producers such as Alchemist, Quelle Chris and Skywlk, as well as featured artists like MIKE, Bruiser Wolf, and Kassa Overall, while lyrically and sonically delving into the animated MC's uniquely poignant and chaotic ascension over the past two decades. Purchase Lewis Capaldi Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent is the debut studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi. It was released on 17 May 2019 through Vertigo Records in Europe and Capitol Records in the United States, and distributed globally by Universal Music. Purchase Yeule Softscars On their third LP, British-Singaporean singer-songwriter Nat Cmiel is moving in a new direction - not only with a move from Bayonet Records to Ninja Tune, but also favouring a guitar-led indie rock sound, a departure from the critically acclaimed 'Serotonin II' and Danny L Harle produced 'Glitch Princess'. Lead single 'sulky baby' is a bright affair, distorted guitars circling Yeule's brand of gloomy lyrics sang with a smile. 'dazies' gets off the mark with a killer electric guitar lead, giving way to a plucked ambience with a computerised Nat ringing off a word association of a person kicked to the curb. When Kin Leonn isn't working their production magic, Yeule's self-production breaks the space. 'fish in the pool' is an ambient piano interlude with light-as-a-feather vocal adlibs, something that wouldn't be out of place in a Studio Ghibli production. 'Follow The Sound' has a broad eclectic sound, with influences from Kim Churchill, Adam Newling and The Waifs. From ballads to upbeat indie-rock, the album features eight original tracks that tastefully highlight Georgie Winchester’s strong songwriting, production and powerful vocals. 'Loved', similarly, evokes a 90s hip-hop, dare say Britcore fascination, melded with warmingly serene analogue pulsations, underlaid. Our day is going to be a celebration of the local record store, the records and people within, as well as the community around them. We will be celebrating with specials instore as well as prizes and exclusive giveaways etc. But in conjunction with all that we will be celebrating the day with live music. We will have the brilliant and experimental Sunbiirds come to warp our innocent minds. Will Mitchell from the incredible Melvic Centre playing tunes from his brilliant album acoustically and then we’ll be topped off with the outstanding Melody Pool who will blow us away into the evening. Throughout that we will have Rudderless DJ’s spinning an eclectic range of tunes for you all, and we are also opening up the ‘Open Decks’ so if you fancy bringing a baby of records and showing off some of those gems, you can visit the link in our bio and register to play.
